Short description
The positioning
system PSD 01 has been developed especially for the alignment of
precise machinery. Using a visible laser, the equipment can be adjusted
during installation or realigned during maintenance with a high degree of
accuracy.
The system
includes a laser with an accumulator-box , a receiver and a basic operation
and indication system with a integrated mains adapter. The modulated laser
emits a visible beam which is received by a 2-dimensional sensor. The
detector converts the geometrical data into a signal current. These signals
are fed to the base unit by cable and interpreted in the micro processor.
The co-ordinates, selected parameters and menu functions are shown on a
large LCD display.
The position of
the laser is indicated numerically and in graphic format as a circle within
a scaled graticule. There are four function key pats underneath the display
to permit the following adjustments: Display of absolute-/relative-centers,
ZOOM -factor for graphic display, centre alignment of graticule, adjustment
of filter response , LED-indicators ON/OFF.
The LED-indicator
uses eight light emitting diodes arranged within a square which indicate the
offset position of the laser relative to the centre. This is useful when
making coarse adjustments over long distances. Additionally, all measurement
data is fed to an RS232 interface enabling computer records and protocols to
be kept, if desired.
With accumulators
fully charged, the system is operationally autonomous for a minimum of five
hours. Except for recharging and the occasional cleaning of the laser
aperture there is no requirement for maintenance.
Mechanical
dimensions of sender and receiver can be adjusted to meet special
application requirements as long as the indicated minimal dimensions are
considered. Also possible is the development of a specific measuring system
based on PSD 01 technology.
